CAFY’s Victim Advocate Training Program

CAFY’s Victim Advocate Training Program is modeled on the National Victim Assistance Academy, the nation’s premier training and education program for professionals who assist victims of crime.  Developed in 2002 using the input of many experts in the field county and statewide this manual was written and edited by CAFY’s founding team Arleen Joell, Ta’Quilla Spaine and Ta Tanisha Meadows

Certificate of Graduation

Upon successful completion of the entire CAFY Training Program, including participation in all sessions participants will be awarded a certificate of completion.  Participants will also be eligible for NOVA’s National Certification. Once both certifications are obtained, the advocate is able to use “NCA” showing their accreditation.

Both credentials will let victims, we work with know of our dedication and commitment to serve and that becoming a victim advocate is a profession that is earned and honored locally and nationally.

Acknowledgements

We would like to thank the many professionals for their ideas and their advisory role to our program.  Their work and help in facilitating our training programs inspired us to develop and implement this program.
