About

Works to assist and empower clients to enhance their quality of life through effective mental health treatment. She is a critical member of CAFY’s teams and credentials include Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with PhD from Howard University in Counseling Psychology. She is certified in clinical psychology and critical incidence response. Shannon has experience as a clinical director and private clinician working with children in both residential and outpatient environments.

Dr. Williams brings to CAFY the ability to implement both trauma-focused cognitive behavior (TF-CBT) and solutions focused therapy. Both methods, which studies have shown, are effective in dealing with children working to manage trauma while also helping them to rebuild their family support structure. This inclusive method and her ability to assess and create effective TF-CBT treatment plans allow CAFY to achieve result-oriented outcomes in the mental health and well-being of children harmed by crime.
